Pianist and composer Paul Cornish makes his Jazz, TX debut performing music from "You're Exaggerating!", his critically acclaimed first release on the legendary Blue Note label—a bold and expressive album that cements his place in the next generation of jazz innovators. A proud Houston native and HSPVA alum, Cornish carries on the legacy of fellow trailblazers like Robert Glasper and Jason Moran, while carving out a sound all his own. A finalist in the 2023 Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition, Cornish has toured the world and collaborated with artists like Joshua Redman, Kanye West, HAIM, Snoh Aalegra, and Terrace Martin. Now, he brings his trio to San Antonio for an evening of music that is intimate, spontaneous, and rooted in deep storytelling. Joining him are two of today’s most dynamic voices in jazz: Jermaine Paul, a Los Angeles-based bassist whose work spans genres—from MC Hammer to Dianne Reeves—and whose sound brings depth and groove in equal measure. Jonathan Pinson, a fearless, expressive drummer known for his work with Kamasi Washington, Gerald Clayton, and Moses Sumney. A graduate of the Herbie Hancock Institute, Pinson leads with heart, power, and imagination. Together, the Paul Cornish Trio offers a sound that’s daring yet compassionate, built on years of collaboration and shared vision. Expect original music from the new Blue Note release, along with moments of reflection, fire, and joy—a truly modern jazz experience rooted in legacy, community, and pure expression. As always, our kitchen and bar will be open for dinner service! See you at the show!
