Jazz, TX Presents: The Music of Frank Sinatra with Max Wellman and the Doc Watkins Orchestra

Max Wellman is a bandleader, vocalist, and the owner of Noce Jazz Club in Des Moines, IA. He joins us for the first time at Jazz, TX to celebrate the music of Frank Sinatra. Wellman co-founded Noce, a state-of-the-art jazz club in downtown Des Moines in 2016. He has appeared at top jazz clubs in the U.S., from Dizzy's at Lincoln Center to Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago. Max presents a show celebrating the life and music of Francis Albert Sinatra. Created in 2015 for Sinatra's centennial birthday, the show journeys from Sinatra's early hits to the famous concept albums like Only the Lonely and In The Wee Small Hours. With a sound evoking the likes of Sinatra and Connick, Wellman’s recordings and performances ensure the Great American Songbook is alive and well for a new generation of listeners.
