The Dirty River Jazz Band is just the crew to take you down to the streets of the Crescent City! The Dirty River Jazz Band, led by Chris Alvarado, has been a staple in the San Antonio Jazz community for over 13 years and has played at Jazz, TX semi-regularly since the doors opened. The band was mentored early on by San Antonio legend Jim Cullum and has gone on to perform all over the US! The band frequents the city of New Orleans and has played The Spotted Cat, DBA, The Maison, Fritzel’s, and other NOLA music institutions. They have also shared billings with musical greats like Robert Randolph, Leon Redbone, Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, and more. Their performances keep the music of the 1910’s-1940’s alive while focusing on the sounds of the great Louis Armstrong and many other jazz greats.
