"One of (New York City’s) premier trio leaders ... " - Downbeat Magazine Jazz, TX is honored to welcome NYC pianist and jazz club owner Spike Wilner to the stage for the very first time. Featuring Spike Wilner (piano), Paul Gill (bass), and Anthony Pinciotti (drums). Pianist Spike Wilner belongs to the tradition of jazz musicians who also own and operate clubs. He owns and operates Smalls and Mezzrow, two of the most vibrant, hip and important clubs on the jazz scene. Along with his partner Mitch Borden, Spike has cultivated and curated a community of musicians and fans whose influence reaches around the world. In 2007 they began live streaming concerts from Smalls, and since then they have built an archive of over 12,000 concerts (35 more are added each week) featuring 2000 musicians. Spike has enjoyed a long tenure on the New York City and global jazz scenes, performing with the likes of The Artie Shaw Big Band, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Maynard Furgeson & Lennie Cuje while remaining highly active as a bandleader all while managing iconic NYC Jazz shrines Smalls and Mezzrow. As always, the Jazz, TX kitchen and bar are open for dinner service. See you at the show!
