The Midnight Set at Jazz, TX is where you’ll experience jazz in a freer, more unfiltered form. This isn’t your usual sit-down dinner show. Enjoy a special late-night menu, great drinks, great company, and jazz after hours. We’ll see you at midnight! From El Paso, apart of a class of young musicians ready to make their mark on ATX, comes Demetreis Thornton. Drawing upon sounds reminiscent of Curtis Fuller, Steve Davis, Benny Golson, Slide Hampton, and Art Blakey, Demetreis puts serving the music above all else. And has shared the stage with many luminaries such as Gary Smulyan, Radam Schwartz, Brad Leali, and Nat Reeves to name a few. Since moving to Austin in 2023, he has hit the ground running and can be seen composing, arranging, educating, and playing with groups of all shapes and sizes in the Central Texas area.

For this intimate midnight session, Demetreis will be presenting “Images of Curtis Fuller”, performing works from his long, star-studded career as both a bandleader and as a sideman. From hard hitting swing to melodious ballads and feel good grooves. This tribute to one of the masters of the jazz trombone will be sure to have a little something for everyone!

The kitchen will be offering our late night menu and the bar will be fully be open for drink service!
