This multimedia experience features interactive discussions and exciting live performances of music from across the popular music spectrum, reflecting pop music’s gradual shift from early jazz, to rock and roll, to 80’s synth-pop, to current hip hop and R&B. The Graeme Francis trio’s slick arrangements of these songs emphasize pop music’s continuous connection to jazz over the past one hundred years. Come groove along with the music of The Beatles, Fats Waller, Michael Jackson, George Gershwin, Nirvana, Dr. Dre, and more! A native of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Dr. Francis is a music educator with over twenty years of experience teaching students and professionals of all levels. Graeme is also a versatile percussionist, equally in demand with professional orchestras, chamber groups, and jazz groups. His various jazz projects have seen him featured at clubs and festivals throughout the US and Canada, including performances at Carnegie Hall, The Apollo Theatre, Jazz TX, The Majestic Theatre, and dates with Chuck Lamb, Eric Alexander, Doc Watkins, and Joe Magnarelli.
