Sweet Megg is a genre-blending vocalist and songwriter, weaving jazz, country, and blues into a sound that’s both timeless and fresh. Originally from NYC and now based in Nashville, she’s traveled the world, honing her craft everywhere from Parisian jazz clubs to Southern honky-tonks. Her latest album, Never Been Home (#23 Americana Radio Charts & #1 Alt Country Charts), showcases her signature mix of vintage influences and modern edge. Produced by Mose Wilson & Dennis Crouch and recorded at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, the album captures Megg’s restless spirit and musical evolution. After years touring with Postmodern Jukebox and leading a Cirque du Soleil country project, she’s back, ready to share her most personal work yet. The Dirty River Jazz Band, led by Chris Alvarado, has been a staple in the San Antonio Jazz community for over 13 years and has played at Jazz, TX semi-regularly since the doors opened. The band was mentored early on by San Antonio legend Jim Cullum and has gone on to perform all over the US! The band frequents the city of New Orleans and has played The Spotted Cat, DBA, The Maison, Fritzel’s, and other NOLA music institutions. They have also shared billings with musical greats like Robert Randolph, Leon Redbone, Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, and more. Their performances keep the music of the 1910’s-1940’s alive while focusing on the sounds of the great Louis Armstrong and many other jazz greats.
