Jazz, TX runs two Disney tribute shows, and Texas Public Radio once called one "hugely successful." Once a year, close to Halloween, the band gives those same songs a darker turn. "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "Be Our Guest" are still in there, just a little haunted. The villains finally get a few songs of their own.

Jazz, TX has run two Disney tribute nights for years. One leans on songs like "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "The Bare Necessities." The other digs into "Be Our Guest" and "Colors of the Wind." Villains & Magic takes both song lists and turns them loose for one Halloween night a year. The heroes keep their numbers, played the same way you know them. A few villain songs get worked in too, so the set swings from sweet to a little wicked and back. Come in costume if you have one. It is still the same jazz quartet behind the original tribute shows, just leaning into the shadows for a night. The bar and kitchen keep running right through it.
About Jazz TX
Jazz, TX is San Antonio's home for live jazz, tucked into the basement of the historic Pearl Brewery's Bottling Department. Founded in 2016 by bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins, the club picked up the torch of the city's great jazz rooms and quickly became its premier destination for live music. Seven nights of shows span jazz, blues, big band, Texas swing, salsa, and Latin jazz — from Doc Watkins and his ten-piece orchestra to world-class touring artists like Kevin Eubanks, Bill Charlap, and John Pizzarelli. Every show is an intimate, 90-minute ticketed concert. Come early for South Texas cuisine, craft cocktails, wine, and beer, and stay for the music.
