Noelle Goforth, born in Hollywood and raised in the Texas Hill Country, sings the songs old movies made famous with her band, Three Swings and a Miss. They have played Jazz, TX since 2018, and two of their three earlier Silver Screen nights sold out. You will hear "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca and "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's, played by a band that specializes in the popular music of the 1920s through the 1950s.

Songs of the Silver Screen with Three Swings and a Miss

Noelle Goforth was born in Hollywood and raised in the Texas Hill Country. She trained for years in piano and voice, then led bands in styles from Celtic to Americana to jazz. In 2017 she formed Three Swings and a Miss, a vintage-style swing band that plays the popular music of the 1920s through the 1950s. Her singing draws on Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday.
Songs of the Silver Screen is the band's movie night. The set moves through "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca, "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's and "On the Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady, with film-noir mood on one side and Technicolor on the other. The band has played Jazz, TX since 2018, and this show has sold out more than once.

Founded in 2016 by bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins, the club picked up the torch of the city's great jazz rooms and quickly became its premier destination for live music.
