The Midnight Set at Jazz, TX
Midnight Set with The Josiah Boornazian Group
Sat, Nov 21, 2026

Pianist Aleks Fadini came from Italy to New York in 2011 and met sax player Josiah Boornazian there. They have made two albums together, "A Dark and Stormy Day" and "Simply Begin Again." Boornazian plays through effects pedals, so a late set can go where a dinner set never would.

The Midnight Set with The Josiah Boornazian Group Ft. Aleks Fadini
Sat, Nov 21
The Midnight Set is Jazz, TX after hours, with a late-night menu, a full bar, and jazz that loosens up once the clock passes twelve. This set belongs to sax player Josiah Boornazian, who directs jazz studies at the University of Utah and has taught in South Texas. His partner is pianist Aleks Fadini, a trained mathematician from Italy who studied with Marc Copland in New York. They have played together since 2011, as a duo and as a quartet, and they mix original tunes with standards. Boornazian adds live electronics. Fadini also built a game for ear training called "SpaceEars."
About Jazz TX
Jazz, TX is San Antonio's home for live jazz, tucked into the basement of the historic Pearl Brewery's Bottling Department. Founded in 2016 by bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins, the club picked up the torch of the city's great jazz rooms and quickly became its premier destination for live music. Seven nights of shows span jazz, blues, big band, Texas swing, salsa, and Latin jazz — from Doc Watkins and his ten-piece orchestra to world-class touring artists like Kevin Eubanks, Bill Charlap, and John Pizzarelli. Every show is an intimate, 90-minute ticketed concert. Come early for South Texas cuisine, craft cocktails, wine, and beer, and stay for the music. At Jazz, TX, the night is a celebration shared between the audience and the band. 312 Pearl Parkway, Building 6, Suite 6001, San Antonio, TX 78215 (210) 332-9386 Tuesday–Thursday 6–10 PM · Friday–Saturday 6 PM–midnight · occasional Sunday special shows
