John O'Hurley has built a career out of showing up somewhere you don't expect. He played J. Peterman on Seinfeld for four years, the catalog man who never met a story he wouldn't tell twice. He hosted Family Feud from 2006 to 2010. He finished second on the first season of Dancing with the Stars and still brings it up. A Man with Standards is what happens when he sets all of that aside. He picks up a microphone instead. He spends ninety minutes on the Great American Songbook, told through the men who taught him what a standard really is. He has stood on this stage before. He trades one-liners for melody and never rushes the punchline.
